JD Tech 2015 Tractorcade

The day started with the threat of rain but the 28 drivers got started at 9am. Fortunately the rain seemed to avoid the route until near the end. This year we invited the Classic Tractors Club from Clermont to join us and they even came with a people hauler. We gathered at the end for food and conversation.
I would like to thank everyone who came out for the ride and all those that made it happen.
Here are videos from this years ride.

Tractorcade 2014

We had a small group this year maybe because it looked like rain but we only had a few sprinkles at the start and at the end. We started by 9am and were back by 1pm with a nice stop at the Waucoma City Park. Several people came to socialize over lunch and to watch it rain. Thanks to everyone who helped with the event and thanks to all who came to visit. We look forward to next years ride!

Tractor Ride 2013 Pics

We started the day thinking we had a good weather forecast but they missed it. The rain did not dissipate as it moved south and it rained all morning. We shortened the ride by about 10 miles and took a shortcut home. We still had a good time! It was good to see old friends and meet a few new friends. Thanks to everyone who came to participate and all those who helped put it on.

See you next year. Saturday July 12th, 2014

Higher quality pictures are available by sending Duane an email.

Here is the group leaving from school.

Ossian was going to be the halfway point but we shortened the ride a little.
A few people went to the stores in Ossian to get sweatshirts and coats. This is a video of the group leaving the Ossian park.

2012 Tractoride Memories

Fifty one tractors started the day with a little threat of rain and I think most people there would have been happy to drive in the rain if it meant they were getting a little at home. The first half of the ride we had a few break downs but they either got solved or hauled and the second half went well. We got back in just in time to enjoy some great food and conversation. It was good to see old friends and make a few new friends. We look forward to next year on the second Saturday in July (July 13th) to do it all again. Who knows maybe my "B" will be mobile by then. I would like to thank Kristi, Eileen, Neil, Rodney, Laura, Lori Lee and all the students that helped with the event. I would also like to thank everyone for participating and we hope to see you again next year.

Color Confusion

I know in the past even after 2 years of school some people are confused about trucks and tractors so I thought I should try to clear this matter up.

Here are some TRUCK examples: Red, Blue and Orange

Here are some TRACTOR examples: Notice GREEN.

Its OK we will let you come and play even if you are still a little confused. See you on July 9th.

2011 Route

We finally got a route put together. We are doing a few miles of gravel, but it is scenic. We are planning a 10 am start because that will give us a chance to watch a few tractors go by on Hwy. 150 from the North Iowa Tractor Ride. The route is about 37 miles with the half way point at Waucoma. We would like everyone to be lined up by 9am and we should be back by 1:30 pm for some of those high-quality Spillville brats and Neil's Famous beans. If you don't have a tractor to bring you can just come to socialize. We hope to see you there on July 9th.

Tractorcade 2011

So finally we are starting to plan the 2011 tractorcade. Saturday July 9th is the date (second Saturday in July as always) is the date. There is another tractor ride stopping at the Dairy Center from 9 -11 that day so we don't want to get that all tangled up so I think we will head west this year. A little different scenery would be a good thing. We have just started talking about the route and we will post it here as soon as we get it worked out.

2010 Route

Looks like we have finally settled on a route for the tractorcade.
We have a few obstacles to overcome this year. The driveway and parking lot behind the JD Tech building will be torn up this year and the loading dock will be unavailable. This also means that we will not be able to park in the shop or use the Ag Tech parking lot. We think we can use the lot behind the T&I building and part of the parking lot north of the T & I building. If you nead a dock we will try to find one for you to use.

Feel free to email or call Jay, Neil or me with any input that you have.

If you would like to post some pictures send your email address to me and I will add you as an author so you can post. I know its a little tricky and involves a little RTFB but we would love to see your pictures. I am sure you can handle it.
